General Information

‘Delphi’ is a lovely example of the legendary Aquastar 38 Ocean Ranger. This is a boat perfectly suited to weekend/extended cruising and for just popping out to enjoy a leisurely afternoon in the sun at anchor and taking advantage of the very sociable layout she possesses.- her aft cockpit has in-fill cushion seating which can happily seat 10 adults!

Being an Aquastar, she is more than capable if you’re caught out by changing conditions at sea; as evidence of just how capable these boats are, two Aquastar 38’s circumnavigated Britain just last year and it took them less than a month!

Delphi has been fully serviced and maintained and she has benefited from a thorough overhaul in the last few years. Just some of the highlights of recent works include:

  • Electronic throttles new in 2023
  • New copper coat was applied in 2023
  • Replaced through-hull skin fittings & sea cocks 2023
  • Engines came out for an overhaul – clean coolers, new engine mounts, couplings & shaft seals. 2023
  • The engine bay was cleaned while the engines were out.
  • Props and shafts removed, cleaned up and new cutlass bearings fitted 2023
  • New prop shafts fitted 2023.
  • New hydraulic hoses to gearboxes 2023
  • Replace anode studs and bonding wires 2023
  • New batteries, battery cables & battery charger 2023
  • New alternators for the engines 2023
  • Prop speed on shafts, props, trim tabs & P-brackets  2023
  • New fire extinguisher fitted in engine room – including trace hose around engine room & wire in alarm 2023
  • New galley gas hobs with alarm and combi microwave. 2020
  • Raymarine Axiom plotter at the lower helm
  • Lewmar bow thruster.
  • 12 volt USB charging ports throughout & 240v sockets.
  • New fuel tanks 2018 in stainless steel with extra inspection lids.
  • Sinergex 1500w 240v inverter.
  • Raymarine radar, autopilot & tri data. Icom M423G DSC VHF.

Delphi is powered by a pair of Caterpillar 3116’s, producing 350hp each with circa 1300 hours on each engine.  As you can see from the list of works, extensive attention has been lavished on her mechanicals, heedless of cost.
